MIT Beer Game Logistics Simulation Training
"A unique experience for managers who want to see the big picture of the supply chain."
Who Should Attend?
If you are a strategic or tactical level manager, you must take this training. Although it is called training, it is actually a game. And as you play the game, your perspective on business life and events will completely change. We are confident about this. No one has failed to change their perspective after playing the game. While the main theme is making decisions under uncertainty, within a few hours you will experience years and begin to see the positive and negative impacts of your managerial skills, as well as the big picture.
This game, which every CEO-level manager has experienced at least once on the cards in the United States, European Union, and NATO, is now available online through our services.
Training Duration
The training is completed in three main sessions within one day: introduction session, game sessions, and analysis sessions. We completely tailor the schedule to you. It can be completed in half a day or in a full day at a comfortable pace.
What is the Beer Game?
The Beer Game: Beer Game is a board game developed several decades ago at MIT to teach system dynamics in the context of supply chains. Four team members take on the roles of retailer, wholesaler, distributor, and factory in a simple linear supply chain. Team members place orders for goods to their upstream neighbors in response to demand from their downstream neighbors. The goal of the game is to minimize the cost of meeting demand. Costs are a function of backlog and inventory.
A game usually lasts 30-40 minutes. In a typical application, student teams play two consecutive games in the classroom. In the first game, students only see local information. In the second game, all students see retail demand, all orders, and all inventory information. Students experience firsthand how the availability of information can improve supply chain performance.
